Goodbye Patrick Swayze (and Keith Floyd)
I feel I can’t let the week go by without paying my respects to the lovely Patrick Swayze, who died this week after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 57. I loved him opposite Demi Moore in Ghost, even more than in Dirty Dancing.
RIP Patrick. We shall all miss you.
PS I have just been reminded by my son Sam to mention that Keith Floyd also died this week. One of TV’s most loved celebrity chefs, he ‘broke the mould’ when it came to cookery programmes. Keith will always be remembered for his eccentric style of presenting, his dress sense and his glass of red wine.
Sam also told me that one of his colleagues at work said, ‘It’s been a long time since two famous people died on the same day.’ Er…. Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett?
